A bittersweet finish to the Century Outeniqua 400

The CR7 was unable to finish the race due to another fuel pressure issue, unrelated to the one from yesterday. A disappointing end for @jayden_els and @swemmerjr after their strong Stage 1 recovery and clocking the fastest time on Split 1.

For the CR-X, the Outeniqua 400 was an important first race and testing ground for our new T3. As with any new model, there is still room for improvement, but the weekend gave us valuable information to take back to the workshop.

Thank you to @sarallyraidchampionship and our long-standing partners @centurypropertydevelopments for making the Century Outeniqua 400 such a fun and successful event for all the teams and competitors.

Until the next one.

First day at the Century Outeniqua 400 @sarallyraidchampionship

Rocky, narrow, steep and twisty tracks made for a challenging opening day.

The CR-X had a clean first official outing, running trouble-free from qualifying through to the end of Stage 1. Mark and @maxcorbett_racing21 finished the day 24th overall and 2nd in class.

It was a tougher start for the CR7. An issue with the fuel direct-injection system resulted in a DNF in qualifying, leaving @jayden_els and @swemmerjr to start Stage 1 at the back of the field. They pushed hard, working their way through the field, overtaking 9 cars to finish the stage 6th and end the day 10th overall.

Today, we go again.

214 cars started, with only 63% making it to the finish. A well-deserved result for the team.

Thank you for all the support, from near and far. It was felt every step of the way 🇺🇸🏁.

D-day: Reno to Vegas @bestinthedesert

The team is as ready as can be to face the challenge ahead. The CR6-T takes on 840 km of non-stop racing through the Nevada desert, on unfamiliar terrain. Big thunderstorms in the past two days have caused havoc on the route, with the race director warning us yesterday to use extreme caution in the first 200km.

@mathieu_serradori and Julien Hardy will take the start, with @brianbarag and @ljcremer taking over at km 380.

Objective for the day: reach the finish line with a trouble free run.

We’ll be livestreaming from the onboard camera on YouTube, with the link shared on our Story.
Race start: approximately 19:00 SAST.

Today the crew heads out for qualifying.

Before the 7km loop, the team has the opportunity to survey the route on a site lap. The CR6 will be offloaded at the start line, complete the site lap, then return to the start line for the timed qualifying run.
